Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24-May-2025
Thank you for using Shopify Inspector by Bliink. We value your trust and are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy outlines what information we (don’t) collect, how the extension functions, and the purpose behind requested permissions.
Information Collection and Use
Shopify Inspector is designed to help users identify whether a website is built on Shopify and view non-personal, publicly accessible information like store metadata, theme name, URL structure, and embedded marketing/analytics scripts.
The extension does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal or private user data. All actions happen locally on your browser, and no information is sent to our servers or third parties.
Permissions Justification
To function as intended, the extension requests the following permissions:
scripting: Used to inject detection logic into the webpage to extract Shopify-related data and embedded apps/pixels.
activeTab: Required to interact with the currently viewed tab only after the user activates the extension.
tabs: Enables actions like copying URLs, opening Shopify Admin tools, developer utilities, and third-party diagnostics in new tabs.
host_permissions (""): Required to allow analysis on any public website the user inspects with the extension.
These permissions are solely used to provide the core functionality of the extension and are not used to collect or transmit any personal information.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not collect or share any user-identifiable data. All detections and actions are performed in the browser memory, and no external API calls or tracking mechanisms are involved.
Your Control
Since Shopify Inspector operates locally, there is no account, login, or tracking involved. You can remove or disable the extension at any time from your browser’s extension settings.
